Where to start?

Since my last post, A LOT of things have happened. And I mean A LOT! That's my excuse for not posting anything for 4 months! So I'll start from the beginning.

Matt got transferred to Perryton. We were excited, but it happened very quickly. Like we packed up and moved in about 2 weeks. We put our house on the market as soon as we could. Matt's dad came to help do some stuff around the house and my mom came to help me pack (or really play with Fischer while I packed). Johnny took a bunch of stuff back with him. We ended up staying at Matt's parents' house while we figured out what to do and hope for our house to sell. Well, that ended up lasting 4 months while Johhny fixed up his mom's house just south of Waka for us to live in. Plus we didn't end up selling our house until about a month ago, so we really couldn't afford to do anything else. Add in a new baby to all this mix and you can say that we (mainly I) were a little stressed. More on Miss Piper later...

Our last picture in front of our first house. I'm not going to lie, I cried...a lot...hey, I was pregnant..

The move has overall been good. I would not recommend living with your in-laws for 4 months while bringing home a new baby to strengthen your marriage....probably one of the hardest things we've had to do. But, we made it through and came out stronger in the end. I love our little family and wouldn't have changed anything. I miss our friends in Hobbs and the comforts of living in a bigger town. I DO NOT miss Wal-Mart. Haven't set foot in one since we've moved here. ha! It has been so nice to have help with the kids and to see our parents pretty much every day. They love being around the kids and Fischer has really taken to "Nah-Nah", "Nu-Nu" and "Gob-Gob" and "Gob-Gob". It's nice being back to the slower pace of life in the country. I think we're going to like it up here.

Ok, so in the middle of all of our craziness Piper Mae Dunnihoo joined our family. She was born on November 8th at 5:57pm and weighed 8 lbs and was 20 1/2 inches long. She is just precious and has been an easier baby than Fischer was. Not to mention, my labor with her was 100 times easier! I was only in labor for 6 hours and only pushed 3 different times! Piece of cake...not really, but it felt like it compared to what I went through with Fischer. She has her days, but she is so sweet. When she smiles it is a whole body thing. She smiles so big, turns her head, and brings her hands up. Cutest thing ever! It's crazy to see the differences between her and Fischer at this age. He was just huge and never really a newborn at all. She is big now, but definitely went through that newborn stage. I kept thinking, so this is what it's like to have a "normal" baby.

Fischer is doing really well with his new sister. He went through his jealousy phase, especially when Matt would hold her, but he is getting used to her and always wants to give her kisses and high fives. Speaking of, Fischer's vocabulary has taken off since we've been here. He will pretty much repeat anything you ask him to say and he can name off a ton of objects. He is starting to learn his ABC's, but ABC is about as far has he's gotten. He counts...1...2...5...10...and he points out things I have no idea where he learned the name of them from. When I ask him to say "Please" he says "Good Job" because everytime he actually says please I tell him "Good Job". Stinker...He loves Mickey Mouse (Ma Mouse), tractors, cars, trucks, animals and being outside. That kid would stay outside all day if we let him. We've had a bunch of concrete work done around the house and so there is a huge sand pile and then a dirt pile in the yard. He is in heaven. He loves it so much that I don't mind how dirty he gets. He still eats everything in sight and I am getting more and more nervous about the amount of food that kid is going to consume as a teenager.

Miles has taken well to the country life too. We lost him for about a week, but he was just visiting some neighbors and they brought him back when they finally got tired of him. We thought he was gone forever and Matt was already thinking about what other dog he wanted to get. We were so suprised when he actually came back. He was so happy to see us, but he is confined to my parent's backyard until Matt gets a temporary fence put up. We don't want him running off again, or getting in fights with coyotes, since he doesn't have a place to sleep inside here.

So there's the short version of what we've been up to. I will try to update this thing on a more regular basis now that we have somewhat gotten settled in. Piper turned 3 months on Tuesday, so I need to get crackin on posts about her. Hopefully someone still reads and hasn't given up on me!
